@Flaminiesta I agree but I think that’s down to Arteta. If he was fine with us pivoting towards a more mid tier option, we would have signed a Ndiaye, Mbaye, or a Fofana imo.
@Flaminiesta Rogers they decided was too expensive and barcola imo Arteta probably didn’t want because he’s not the profile of LW Arteta is looking for.
@Flaminiesta That’s really not many players when multiple are unattainable (Kenan, Nico). It leaves the club in a position where we can’t get the guys at the top of the market + aren’t taking chances on young talents on the cusp. The only real level raiser option were Roger’s and barcola.
@LO_GRC@Flaminiesta I agree but that’s why the same thing has repeatedly happened with us regarding forwards for many years. They’re hard to buy and he’s very picky.
@Flaminiesta You named like 5 players over a five year period, that’s barely any. He clearly wants experienced players (usually prem proven), which makes him very hard to buy for. it’s not the recruitment team who are unwilling to bet on talented 23 year olds on the cusp Imo.
@LO_GRC@Flaminiesta Correct but that why I said very rarely, it’s about one per year. I would also include Sesko on the list. Either way that’s not many young players and multiple of them were pretty much impossible to get (Yildiz & Nico). It doesn’t leave the club with many options.

@Flaminiesta Arteta very rarely wants to buy young players that we will grow, hence why we have barely bought any young mids or attackers since we’ve become good. He wants a ready made product which are very hard to sign things probably won’t be any different next summer.
@Blahovic@WindUpWounded Its not just attackers btw its the same story in midfield. The last young midfielder we signed was Fabio Vieria lol unless you include Rice who was 24 world class and prem proven.
@alexfrco@afc_N7k Hmm not sure since like 99% of the time clauses are either only profit or on the whole price but I guess that could be possible. We will find out if they buy marmoush tho I guess.
@alexfrco@afc_N7k The sell on angle would barely make a difference tho. City bought Marmoush for like €80M and it’s apparently a 15% clause lol. That would mean that if Spurs spent £75M on him, city would owe Frankfurt like 1M. Could be the reason but feels pretty immaterial.
@billycarpy@YankeeGunner We will for sure sign a defender. An attacker probably depends on if we can move Martinelli which is why we are trying to sell him.
@dumbesttimeline@scottjwillis Also in regards to Zubi, I think he might get some mins in defense this year as well. Norgaard covered at CB multiple times last year. Could possibly also play some mins at RB if Timber/white have some injury issues.
@dumbesttimeline@scottjwillis Yea I think he’ll be managed the first 1/2 of the season, might not see much of him In The UCL group stages for example. The options we have definitely gives arteta a lot of flexibility to pick and choose which is nice.
@scottjwillis@dumbesttimeline You have rice at over 44 nineties I’d give five of those to Zubi. Also think you should give some of Calafioris minutes to MLS.
