The case was argued by Sharon Geuea Jones and she was great! We pray for a just result that enforces the constitutional limit on the Governor's calling expensive special sessions.
Mayor Spencer says she saw the body camera footage of Emeshyon Wilkins being shot in the back of the head.
"It was horrifying. It was terrifying."
She says the police board needs to recommit to community involvement in oversight and taxpayers should have a role in overseeing it.
James Giles spent 10 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. He is the 640th person exonerated on the @exonerationlist—one of 3,796 since 1989.
Thank you, James, for your courage, and @exonerationlist for being the source of truth. #innocenceconference https://t.co/PBRl2RriiF
It took the constitutional amendment to declare the Black people were citizens and in some respect human at all. Check out Ashley's video! #TikTok https://t.co/ygABRSNxWI

Earlier today on Deadline: White House, I joined Nicolle Wallace to address the disturbing video Donald Trump posted on Truth Social last night and later deleted.
Let me be clear, this was not a one-off or a “mask off” moment. This is who he has been from the very beginning. Donald Trump launched his political career by questioning President Obama’s legitimacy, after years of discrimination lawsuits and calling for the execution of the Exonerated Five. Racism has always been the throughline.
Now we see it wrapped in policy from attacks on DEI, to state-sanctioned racial profiling, immigrants treated like suspects for simply existing, and a push to centralize elections and strip away voting rights. All of this unfolding just days into Black History Month.
What’s just as alarming is the silence from corporate America. CEOs and tech executives sit at the table, cut deals, and profit while this administration promotes division. At best they tolerate it. At worst, they enable it. And I don’t believe any company should be allowed to benefit from government contracts or our consumer dollars while financing hate.
This moment demands moral clarity. We cannot normalize this behavior. We cannot look away. And we cannot stay quiet while democracy, dignity, and basic human rights are under attack.

Folks, I shared the below video in nearly the moments it happened:
I was informed that ICE/DHS was touring a potential “mega detention facility” in south #KansasCity and decided to stop by.
As I was observing, from my truck at a taxpayer subsidized facility; I was swarmed by ice agents. They attempted to threaten to have me arrested for trespassing if I didn’t leave; however they blocked me in both the front and rear of my truck. I refused to get out until a supervisor came over.
I identified myself and my position, and asked what was going on. I confirmed they are looking to place a 7,500 bed facility in this or a similar building in the area from the agents.
Local Electeds must step up, and engage. We cannot sit ideally by and let things happen in our community. Today, I put my and my families security on the line. What are YOU willing to sacrifice for democracy in America? 🇺🇸 🇲🇽
