Our staff @JCPSeSchool and @JeffCoHS had the first meetings today for our book study of @IjeomaOluo 's "So you want to talk about race." Powerful dialogue and discussions for our school. #wearejcps
Happy last day of national counselors week and happy birthday to our last counselor extraordinaire Carrie L. Ciresi. Ms. Ciresi makes sure that our eSchool and over 21 students are well taken care of.
Continuing with honoring our counselors, next we have James Holeman. Mr. Holeman holds down our largest site at Ahrens as a retired part-time counselor.
Today’s counselor spotlight is Western counselor Judy Birkhead.
“Ms. Birkhead called me personally when she had heard I had wanted to drop out and she talked to me for about a hour and gave me back the motivation I had lost.” - Mya Robinson, JCHS black student union president
School Counselors week continues as we celebrate Julia Foster! Ms. Foster works at our Southwest site and has helped so many over the years. “Julia Foster is a kids-first counselor who is willing to take on any task that helps students.” - Jeff Snyder, AP
Shout out to all JCHS counselors who make it all work out! Every day we hit them with unusual situations, and every day they come up with solutions to make things work for our students. Our counselors are dedicated, professional, caring, and are brilliant problem-solvers!
It's #NationalSchoolCounselingWeek, and we are excited to celebrate all our wonderful JCHS counselors all week long!
Thank you for all you do for our students, staff and families!
