These philosophies are usually unremarked upon in our daily lives but when there is an intense contest of ideas, they come into play & mark the borders of debates. Ultimately, what the V2P and GRC debates affirmed is a perceived hierarchy of belonging to the national body (3/3)
In this paper, I consider the V2P in contrast to the GRC implementation in Singapore and I draw on Discursive Institutionalism and the Narrative Policy Framework. I argue that ‘national philosophies’ structure the narrative strategies in policy debates. (2/3)
