📚 Les origines d'Allâh

Une inscription préislamique mentionne Allâh aux côtés de la déesse Allât. Cela pose l'hypothèse que les deux formaient le "couple originel des dieux".

Suzanne Krone explique que "leur origine [...] se situe probablement dans la même région, parmi les tribus du nord-ouest de l’Arabie". Un dieu nommé Allâh est attesté dans les inscriptions safaïtiques (l'écriture archaïque des bédouins) et sud-arabiques, ce qui suggère que son culte s'est répandu à large échelle dans la péninsule arabe et jusqu'en Mésopotamie.

L'étude des inscriptions montre cependant qu'Allâh pas d'une sorte de "grand Dieu" adoré aux côtés de divinités inférieures, ce qui contredit fortement la tradition islamique.
