@TheIndieDiarist Here's my indie action game Scarlet Rain! Use your hand to physically interact with the world, engage in physics-based combat with unpredictable AI as you hunt your targets and try to get away, in a dark tale of revenge...

@TheIndieDiarist It's been an awfully baffling month for the games industry... first Unity, now Unreal. I feel that aggressive corporate expansion is the biggest reason, and while the suits up above keep their fancy offices, it's the actual creators providing those offices who lose everything. 😖
@SquaredApe Not anytime soon... Steam has been around for a looong time, and has a generally positive place in most consumers'minds. Any competition has a lot of climbing to do to reach anywhere close to what Valve has accomplished. 30% is too much for devs, but the consumer doesn't care.🙁
I want to thank bigger devs who stood up for what's right during this #Unity fiasco. My dream game's too far ahead to switch engines, it means the world to me that those with impactful voices stood up for all of us. If I ever do make it big, I want to be just like you.

@georgebsocial 👏👏 really happy when the new letter from #Unity arrived in my inbox yesterday... my game is so far into development that it would've been an absolute nightmare to port over to another engine!
Unity did well here. Sort of nailed it. This is more of a walk back than anyone could have expected.
- removed the retroactive nature
- not install based
- kicks in on v2023LTS+ that ships in 2024
- requires $1m in yearly revenue, then 2.5% and you self report
- This will only impact really successful games that choose to be on the very latest version
Well done, Unity. The only people who complain now will be those that don't use the engine, want to troll, or are very unreasonable people.

@RetroBlastUS Some used to have creative ones, like in GTA3 where one code made the entire city go mad on a rampage. 🤣 I miss those days, where creativity reigned supreme. Well, I guess that's where we indie devs come in... 💪🔧
@LionBoxGames Wow, great find! 👏
Something so obvious should be, well, obvious to everyone at the board of Unity. They did this knowing full well what would happen in return. I'm proud of everyone for digging deep and standing up against this aggressive maneuver! 💪
@OgrePixel I just wanted to say thank you for your marketing course on #domestika . I learned a lot from it, and I'm sure it will come in handy in the near future! 👏🌞
We don’t need changes in the policy, we need that to be rolled back.
Respect the TOS of the older versions.
The trust in your company is broken, “changes to the policy” will not make a difference.
@Gamer_Dan5 @conormcl2023 @The_Top_Loader@Retrogamebrews@ColonelFalcon@Gamin_Guys@Sillensillen @JiswaPROJECT @RetroBlastUS If it's from the game's original release, by all means keep it! That's not a game anymore, it's also a time capsule. That label might've meant nothing then, but now it's part of history. I look at my games with labels, and they take me back to the day I bought them...
