Thanks again to all who joined us for the #SustainFE#ukfechat on Thursday night. Next month’s #ukfechat is hosted by @dianatremayne and @ChloeFibonaccion on the topic of ESOL Class Communities. Join the chat # on Thursday 16th of may at 8:00 PM.
That's all folks. Thank you for joining @JennyWillisAQP and myself for this evening's @sustainfe chat. Always fabulous to spend an evening talking sustainability. #UKFEChat
@AbigailPioli If you’d like to find out more, Abigail, @Realtimeedu is giving a talk on this at the next #SustainFE meeting. You’d be more than welcome to come along. #UKFEChat
@TheEAUC@jillyaqp Absolutely. For us, the comment sparked a conversation about how it could be included in the qualification and why it should be. It always comes back to the conversations. #UKFEChat
Q5: Practitioners are encouraged to embed sustainability in all subjects, but is this always appropriate and if it is, what role does 'how' we teach play in this? #UKFEChat
Q7: This fabulous question is credited to green changemaker, Juliet Atugba: What could FE look like, if every action taken was in the spirit of protecting the environment? #UKFEChat
@TheEAUC@jillyaqp I agree re: the awarding bodies too. One of our early years practitioners mentioned recently that it’s not yet a core part of the apprenticeship they deliver. #UKFEChat
@jillyaqp@JennyWillisAQP So should our focus when training staff be more about general pedagogies that could support the teaching of sustainability? For example, how to use tools like value ranking and assertive questioning (with credit to @GeoffreyPetty ) and focus on the affective domain. #UKFEChat
