Students participated in JCoSS Shabbat at lunchtime today, where they had great fun plaiting challot. They will be baked and then sold tomorrow, with the proceeds going to our school charities. #JCoSSShabbat#challahplaiting#lunchtimefun
Today, Year 12 Politics students had the fantastic opportunity to participate in ‘Learn with the Lords’, where they were able to put their most pressing questions to Life Peer, Lord Lisvane. No stone was left unturned, and we are tremendously grateful for his time.
With this in mind, mainstream JCoSS students were asked to write about a change they would like to see following the theme of 'One Day'.
Whilst students from the PSRP took the time to create a 'Kindness' display and were awarded a Headteacher's commendation for their efforts.
Holocaust Memorial Day not only serves to commemorate victims of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides but asks us to challenge division and create a better future.
Together we can make a difference.

In a year of sometimes swirling reality, I thank everyone at JCoSS for keeping learning & life flourishing despite it all. We’ve triumphed over restrictions, moved onto social media & even learned some Greek. Here’s to smiles emerging from behind the masks in 2022! - Mr Moriarty
Last week we took part in the @Projectimp_ACT Roadshow, where students volunteered to wrap 2000 chocolates for health care workers in London hospitals!

We found this story so inspiring that we wanted to share it with you tonight.
‘Rabbi Hugo Gryn was a child in Auschwitz. The holiday of Chanukah came, & after fashioning a makeshift chanukiah, his father melted the precious margarine ration to light a wick for the first night
Many years later Rabbi Gryn said that at that moment his father spoke words he never forgot. His father said: “My child, we know you can live three days without water. You can live three weeks without food. But you cannot live for three minutes without hope.”’
As you can see JCoSS was in great spirits again this afternoon!
Today we were joined by Rabbi Jeff Berger who gave the traditional Chanukah blessings and Nina from year 11 announced our 5th sponsored charity @separated_child
Shabbat Shalom everyone 💜 #JCoSS#Chanukah
