@MikeLongley11@JennMGreenberg Your gaslighting won’t work. We see clearly. You call it self pity. We call it self respect and the courage to speak truth to power.
@ets1044 @madamspeaker Egalitarian theology doesn’t automatically bring equity and inclusion for women. Gender bias and patriarchal cultures take time, intention and effort to uproot. Churches embrace egalitarianism and think they have arrived. Ask the women. They will probably tell a different story.
“Stop talking about manhood and womanhood and start talking about Christhood. That’s the goal.” -Andrew Bartlett #CBEinternational#fullnessgalatians3:28
@msbimia@MarthaNamie @gobblepopcorn @JeffNotOvercome The same can also be said of Eve since she was also commanded to rule and subdue the Earth. They are both culpable.
@msbimia @gobblepopcorn @MarthaNamie @JeffNotOvercome Genesis 1:28 is super clear that God gave them BOTH the commission to rule and reign over creation. The woman is also created in God’s image and she is also told to rule and reign creation. They are partners and equals together. No hierarchy.
@MarthaNamie @JeffNotOvercome If Adam was created to be Eves protector, what did she need protection from? They lived in paradise. And why does God give clear command that BOTH should rule over creation but fail to say anything about Adam ruling over Eve.

What can we learn from Jesus about women’s equality? For the Winter 2022 issue of Mutuality, we’re looking for writers to explore Jesus’s cultural context, his interactions with women, and how he redeems and equips women even today.
@richvillodas Totally agree! It’s more in line with the early church. I think vibrant relevant churches of the future will take this approach. More voices = a greater revelation because the Divine speaks differently through each of us.
If you don’t think complementarian theology breeds misogyny and abuse then you haven’t been paying attention to what’s happening to Aimee Byrd and Beth Moore.
@aimeebyrdPYW Don’t be surprised @aimeebyrdPYW That’s how patriarchy works. Women who step out of line are always ostracized. It’s about power and control. In the ancient world it meant certain death for women. Thankfully, today, we have more autonomy over our life but it still hurts.
@ashleymeaster suspect you are right about Jerry Jr. - seems a logical explanation of such disgusting behavior. Much of what fundamentalists preach, I don’t believe either. I left fundamentalism and found Jesus.
