@JerusalemJonny The new enemy types, will they be divergences or will they line up with the lore? I'm betting E-Day is going to branch off in a different direction and do its own thing, which is fine if the writing acknowledges that. If it doesn't, then that will be a problem narratively.
Gears of War E-Day First Impressions:
- Visually, the color-grading is very good, it's dirty, and everything feels heavy as it's supposed to be.
- Character models are a huge improvement here.
- Worried about the New Enemy types and new characters
- the gameplay looks fun.
@okjayse Not Incel at all, it's a valid criticism. I'm not a fan of these female character designs either, hopefully their personas will be likeable and good.
Final thing from me before it begins
E-Day has ZERO excuse to be a bad game given all of the feedback and responses over the past 10 years. That tells me it SHOULD be a good game
As a player, you need to decide whether this long wait was worth it for a good Gears game. If you want it to stay relevant, you can't go into it with the same mindset of camping and Lancering again
If you do, you'll ruin it again and I think it's unlikely you'll get another Gears game if this loses players quickly again. If the game is good but players ruin it again, they'll be completely to blame
I pray to God that Mags Carter from Gears of War: E-Day is as badass and Likable as Vazquez from Aliens. Please do not make her insufferable because I'm the one who has to play her in the 4 Player Co-op Campaign. My Dad and brothers are playing as Marcus, Dominic, and the new guy, Lucas Reyes.
Yes, there's that sweet destruction I was hoping for. The longer glimpse of what the Coalition has been up to is exciting. Super low cover is a nice touch too.
SO yeah, E-day looks great, amazing feature set, great tech improvements - and, most importantly - looks like it has heart.
On top of all sorts of insane violence and destruction.
Now get off my fucking lawn already!
