@releiter @KBulloc2@MGHPalCareGeri@HMSPallCare What got me this morning was this “people of color need to be culturally competent in white culture in order for us to be successful”. I’ve been thinking about this all day.
Humbled and honored to be the recipient of the inaugural Humanism in Medicine Award last year and the J. Kevin Tucker, M.D. Award this year from my fellowship program. I guess this California girl can fit in on the East Coast! @MGHKidneys @BWHKidney
@janewitwong@egottliebMD Sorry to say, this doesn’t last! Kendra and I used to clean/organize the workrooms when we would come back from vacay or the VA and it would still be a mess after a bit. But hopefully your effort will last longer!
Imagine if #BlackLivesMatter were the ones who were storming the Capitol building.
Thousands of black people laying siege to the seat of government — in the middle of a joint session of Congress?
Just imagine the reaction.
Got my first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. It was fitting to receive it in the Museum of Medical History and Innovation at MGH. Lots of exciting emotions, got all the feels this morning.
We’ve come a long way from not knowing what this was to creating a vaccine to protect us against it, in less than a year! I got the vaccine to protect myself and my patients, and as an example to those who may be skeptical. Please be kind to one another and protect each other.
Our first years work very hard and deserve the praise! Attendings jumped at the opportunity to provide these positive comments and we are honored to work alongside such caring, smart, and hard working people.
I am excited to announce that I have matched at the Harvard Interprofessional Palliative Care Program! I will remain on loan from California for at least another year 🤔 Thank you to @MGHKidneys @BWHKidney for their support! #HPM#Nephrology
AND thanks to Josh Lakin @SammyG @releiter @ernestimandel@sciacca_kate for their support and showing me how valuable palliative care for patients with renal disease can be!
