Rupert’s ‘I don’t care’ attitude has very quickly turned into completely shitting the bed over that Daily Mail article

The disappointment in the man himself continues despite the overall vision of the party not changing. Everyone else has been excellent, but in the social media age, and especially with a new party, one can only have so many boomerisms because your support base completely evaporates and the vision means jack shit no matter how great the policies and eventual succession of the party looks

Genuine record breaking demolition job here from Rupert. If he felt that throwing in a few civnat comments would make him look less extreme (no doubt the civic nationalist faction have been in his ear relentlessly) then he’ll quickly find out that this strategy will only succeed in turning his party into Advance UK in terms of vote share and meme status

It’s very clear what’s happened here, he’s been spooked by being painted as far right and the civic nationalists are encouraging him to dial it back. It’s salvageable, but he’s dug himself a huge hole with his support base, who’ve already been fucked over so many times before and have zero tolerance for this nonsense.

Going to be an interesting few weeks. Make or break, and every crisis brings an opportunity. Our faction usually wins these and gets further concessions.

Charlie Downes as deputy leader would be a major reassurance for the future and a great act of goodwill.
