@JDCHS students got to experience the @seaofshadowsSOS documentary at @sundancefest 2019. What an incredible movie. Thanks to @SeaShepherd and @ElephantLeague for their courageous efforts to save the cute Vaquita.
@lasee_frank Plenty of scientists of the day disagreed with Hansen's prediction about sea-level rise. He was right that global avg sea levels would increase, just not at the higher rate he said. Just because 1 scientist makes a bad hypothesis, doesn't mean the entire sci community is broken.
@LLBiggers Plastic litter here in Utah wouldn't really be contributing to ocean poll, but our coastal cities are def contributing. Look at how much junk they're collecting in Baltimore harbor! At least reduce where possible, reuse, recycle. https://t.co/3myLZvVthp
@wunderground, I could swear you guys are trying to torture us in UT. About 5 days out from a storm, we have some decent totals predicted. Then every day after the amount drops a little. And by the time it gets here - 0.01in total.😡Would prefer you UNDERESTIMATE and overdeliver
How about giving up/limiting your use of petroleum products during Russia's unprovoked war on #Ukraine? #Lent While you're at it, limit beef consumption since its the least energy efficient animal protein.

Today, @JDCHS AP Enviro saw @sundancefest student screening of "The Territory", a powerful doc - much of it filmed by the locals. "Dual forces of climate change and cultural genocide overlap to devastating effect". Indigenous Brazilians Stand Their Ground https://t.co/FJUU9i4Edg
@Nosediver76@AP@ctlong1 Correct, extreme weather has been happening on Earth for billions of years. But extreme weather events have become MORE extreme and more common in just the last couple of decades due to rising air temperatures. More heat = more evaporation = more precip. Good data in the article.
@Sal_Massaro@AP Of course. Scientists aren’t saying anthropogenic climate change invented floods. We’re saying that a warming climate makes weather events, like precipitation, more extreme. This is because warmer temps evaporate more water from oceans. More water vapor in the air = more precip.
@hfnoo59@AP Population growth rates are dropping globally. The real problem is more people are moving into affluence. People with affluence consume more of everything than people who don’t.
