@JessicaKnapik I loved both movies. I don’t see them as similar enough to compare like this though.
The Monkey is a very dark horror-comedy that hits a lot harder than horror-comedies usually do. Weapons strikes me as a highly original horror movie that the a few funny bits.
My post-apocalyptic horror/urban fantasy novel is now available!
It’s a character-focused study in human darkness with bursts of violence, a fair amount of gore, and lots of monsters.
This isn’t just another scary story.

@literaryfey THE STAND X BIRD BOX
The world plunges into chaos as a supernatural force spreads madness and twists people into inhuman predators. Jacob, a successful lawyer now cursed with power he cannot control, fights to protect his family while clinging to his last thread of humanity.
We call it "doomscrolling" but what we're actually looking for is the firelight in the dark forest. We're looking for a camp to stay the night. Joy, art, stories. Keep this in mind when you choose who to follow and what you share with the world.

@WC_Headquarters In my supernatural, post-apocalyptic horror story the protagonist sets up “houses” in his basement stocked with salvaged candy so his kid can go trick or treating even though they are the only ones left in their neighborhood. 🎃
@EgosiJ Interesting to hear the horror ideas. I’d expect more violence and disturbing material than regular fantasy and maybe some moral ambiguity but with a fantasy look and feel. Game of Thrones is disturbing but the tone is more dark Tolkien than Stephen King with dragons.
@JohnDiesattheEn I agree the proposed restrictions probably wouldn’t do much. The only hope I see is to keep raising the constitutional issue. To me the 2nd amendment says states can raise official militias. Period. Maybe some future court with better reading comprehension will see it that way
