Today, I was honored to meet with Benton Mayor Rita Dotson, President of the @KyLeagueCities, to accept the 2025 Key to Kentucky Cities award. We discussed pressing issues facing local governments and municipalities across the Commonwealth.

The Kentucky League of Cities presented @SenMcConnell with the Key to Kentucky Cities award this week in Washington, D.C. KLC Executive Director/CEO J.D. Chaney and KLC President Mayor Rita Dotson made the presentation in recognition of his longstanding commitment to Kentucky’s cities.

The Key to Kentucky Cities is the most significant award KLC presents to lawmakers. It is reserved for those who have demonstrated exceptional support for city governments and the people they serve.

Throughout his career, Senator McConnell has played a pivotal role in securing disaster relief, expanding broadband access, improving water and wastewater infrastructure, and advocating for federal resources that help city leaders meet the needs of their communities.

KLC is grateful for Senator McConnell’s partnership and continued leadership on behalf of Kentucky cities.

KLC welcomed new leadership last night. Auburn Mayor @MikeHug67879130 took office as the League's new president. Benton Mayor Rita Dotson is the 1st VP, and Beaver Dam Mayor Paul Sandefur will serve as 2nd VP. We're excited to work with them in the coming year! #IStandUpForCities
