Writing is my passion! Author of The Excluded and currently working on a book about a villain in The Excluded series. A.K.A. Kit! :/ And being Christian rocks!
"Just let me warm up," said Alpine, stretching arms above her head. "When we attack those disgusting vigilantes, I need to be ready. Have you spoken with Lionel, yet?"
"You guys, use your Gifts on those rocks, again. Give me something to work with." Soon after Ethan spoke, Alpine hurled the rocks at them, shoving her arms forward, face wet from exhaustion
"I said, LET ME GO!"
"Fine with me."" Ethan would have shrugged, but the tight grip his Gift had on him wouldn't allow it. He swung his arm forward, sending a howling Alpine soaring towards the construction workers.
"Oh." Alpine didn't move, eyes flickering to Ethan. "So, there's more of you." She snickered, appearing unaware of part of her Gift losing its power. "Well, there used to be more of you..."
"Did he really think KIDS," She growled the last word, squeezing the air once again, making his muscles tighten. Ethan squinted feeling like he'd been forced under a boulder...
"This is all good and well,"' grouched Davis, a chill breeze floating through Ethan's clothes as the man spoke. "But I have a feeling we have more things to worry about, like the fact that Magnum has workers who fight anyone who want to bring down the Swifts...
"How exactly do you plan on getting off the island and heading back to the city?" asked Timothy, right eyebrow raised.
"Yeah, I might need your guy's help with that," said Conrad...
"Shouldn't we split up?" said Ethan, scratching the side of his head. "I think if we all try to go in one way, they're going to surround us and set us on fire. We need to find those other entrances."
"Listen, man," said Ethan after clearing his throat. "Your guy's plan to take down Flagship is over, done with. You have nobody to help you and my patience has run out a long time ago...
"Just a second, Orion," Wonder interrupted. "I think this young man might have stolen something from me, a book." Ethan felt his lungs squeeze together, his stomach performing swirls...
"A Gifted..." Bertram murmured, shock flooding his eyes, hands clasped into fists. Before he had a chance to say another word, Ethan interrupted him.
"You saved him." He shook his head. "Why? Why would you do that? He attacked our school!"
"Huh," said Ethan, scratching the back of his head. "Who wants to enter the creepy forest, first?" Timothy coughed onto his hand then backed away a few steps, red hair fizzing.
"I don't know what you want me to say, man," Ethan snapped, regretting the angry tone to his voice. "I already said I'm going. What the heck is the problem-"
"I'm not joining together with a freakin,' foul smelling canid. They can stick to their own packs, huddle in their own groups. But us pyroglees," Conrad knocked a fist against his chest. "We stick together as 1 unit."
"Why don't you just let the vigilantes do it?" asked Ethan. "I mean, we could go to jail for this. And it's not like we're being trained to fight bad guys like the kids up north-"
