5. Michael Penix Jr. to Taj Davis vs. Oregon – November 12, 2022 (Autzen Stadium, Eugene)

—-With UW trailing Oregon late in the fourth quarter, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. launched a crucial 62-yard touchdown pass to receiver Taj Davis. On a critical third down, Davis raced past the Ducks secondary and caught the deep pass in full stride, dramatically tying the game at 34. The electrifying play quieted Autzen stadium and shifted momentum decisively to Washington, paving the way for an eventual 37–34 upset win.

4.Mishael Powell vs. Arizona State – 2023 (Oct. 21, 2023 – Husky Stadium, Seattle)

—-As Arizona State threatened a late upset, Mishael Powell seized the moment in front of a tense home crowd. On a do-or-die fourth-and-3 at Washington’s 12-yard line, the Husky nickelback jumped the receiver’s route, snatching the ball in stride and instantly bursting down the left sideline. Powell blazed 89 yards to the opposite end zone, evading the quarterback’s last desperate dive near the 20, as the anxious hush in the stands exploded into absolute pandemonium. His game-winning pick-six flipped a potential defeat into a 15–7 triumph, preserving the Huskies’ undefeated season and sending fans into delirium — a highlight Husky faithful in the pouring rain, won’t soon forget.

1. Michael Penix Jr. to Rome Odunze vs. Oregon – October 14, 2023 (Husky Stadium, Seattle)

—-Facing a four-point deficit with less than two minutes remaining against top-10 rival Oregon, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. connected with Rome Odunze on a perfectly thrown 18-yard touchdown. Odunze made an acrobatic catch in tight coverage, managing to secure the ball and tap his foot down inside the end zone. Husky Stadium exploded as the touchdown put Washington up 36–33, a game then capped with UW victory by an Oregon missed field goal moments later as time expired.

The day following the game, it was famously revealed that Penix Jr. predictively freestyle-rapped the comeback minutes before it happened to teammate Jalen McMillan (caught on camera). Penix’s confident throw, freestyle, and Odunze’s clutch catch instantly became legendary.
