@VyneHellebore you MAY want to try getting just a cheap "aux" isolator cable like this below and putting that between the headphones and the rode device
https://t.co/VLfLnemUxb
@VyneHellebore yeah its MOST LIKLEY not your unit or the headphones...its likley a combo of humidity and dryness
I get shocked by in ear monitors too and it just sucks when it happens
@kolbepayne That is every industry tho. Don't believe its only games or that its better in x,y,z industry Do what you love...bc there is NO SECURE biz to be in
no matter what you do for a living, we are all replaceable cogs in someones wheel, even when you work for yourself
@TacticalGramma oh they fixed the noise floor and the preamps with the 2nd model so...
i retract my previous statement about thinner sounding(that was the gen 1 model)
@TacticalGramma there is a new firmware on the Goxlr Discord that fixed all my drop out issues...do ensure you are on that one at a minimum.
and , I know it sounds crazy...but try changing usb cables and ports
I had a usb DRIVER update that introduced issues, changing ports solved the issue
@TacticalGramma get another goxlr...
you can get good deals on em now and unfortunately there isn't a good replacement for it yet.
You will at a minimum lose routing options and you will def lose fidelity. The rode options just sound much thinner and have a higher noise floor.
@FemSteph @KiwiOnTheSticks if you do have a foam windscreen on it however the best way to clean those is just warm water...soap can be hard to get out of em

that link gives some good practices for mic cleaning if folks need!
@FemSteph @KiwiOnTheSticks your mic looks to be an Audio Technica with a metal grille ...
that should be easy to clean with isopropyl alcohol and a washcloth
soapy water on a metal grill mic may damage the mic
if you know the model number on your mic I can tell you the proper cleaning procedure
