🇪🇺🇦🇺As EU-Australia FTA talks resume and move forward, it is essential to once more recall the reality on the ground for European farmers:

Sensitive sectors such as beef🐮, sheepmeat🐑, sugar🌱and rice🌾are already under severe strain from rising costs, internal policy pressures and the cumulative impact of multiple trade agreements, including the prospect of Mercosur.
⛔️Additional pressure on these markets risks undermining production, investment and the long-term viability of EU farming in these sectors.

🔴Furthermore, no agreement should in any way undermine the 🇪🇺 production model and standards, including our GIs system, which remains a cornerstone investment of our producers to add value and guarantee quality of their products, while safeguarding jobs and rural economies.

Aucune base réelle et scientifique pour motivé cet avis si ce n' est le sacrosaint principe de précaution qui risque à l' avenir avec une telle interprétation de tuer toute activité économique française.

Our Italian delegate, Luigi Maccaferri, recalled how devastating this agreement would be for our sector.
The deal fails to create a level playing field for EU sugar farmers & producers. It is misleading for consumers as it fails to defend the EU's own standards.
