Rollercoaster of 3-year old emotions from this morning:
7am - “mommy I’m gonna marry you!”
7:30am - mental breakdown bc his brother was wearing the boots he wanted to wear (which are brother’s)
7:50am - after dropping brother at school, “I’m gonna miss him”
Six-year-olds are awesome. This morning mine told me that he knew a college word and it was photosynthesis. And then he told me that Bigfoot lives behind the playground at school.
My son is talking about some animal and I can’t figure out what it is. It sounds like a mix between koala and walrus. Koalrus.
I’d like to see a cartoon of this animal.
Me: oh the garbage truck hasn’t run yet
Jase: it’s not trash day
Me: yes it is, it’s Wednesday
Jase: it’s not trash day, it’s baseball season.

3yo: Me never alone cause God is always with me.
Me: aw that’s right buddy!
3yo: did you know Spiderman is God?
and now we have to have a conversation about blasphemy.
3yo: Mom, milk comes from cows!
Me: yep!
3yo: and water comes from sea horses!
Me: umm
3yo: and honey badgers come from God!
Two out of three isn’t bad I guess.
Something my three year old has been saying a lot lately is “you never know!” as he shrugs his shoulders… And I think that’s a perfect description of the hopefulness of kids. #jaseisms
As delta cases surge and public health guidance adapts in response to new information (like it’s supposed to do), please support & pray for frontline healthcare workers. As hospital wards fill up again, many of us are experiencing frustration, anxiety, & straight up PTSD.
Honestly, we are hypocrites when we raise missions money in the names of Lottie Moon & Annie Armstrong, applaud missionaries like Bertha Smith and then attack women like Beth Moore.
Been playing this on repeat all week. To tap your feet, listen to “He has made a way.” To be floored (and maybe cry?) listen to “There is a Mountain.” Listen to the whole thing for the whole story.
Be kind to people. So much of this hate burgeoning around us is rooted in fear. People who are scared often cope by hiding their vulnerability under a mean exterior. We’re called to be kind to people—not because they earned it but—because Jesus has been inconceivably kind to us.
