Last Friday, our Band and Chorus participated in The Festival of Music at Kings Dominion. Our chorus received a Superior Rating!
Shout out to our chorus teacher, Ms. Ledbetter and our band teacher, Mr. Jones for planning this great experience for our students.
On Jan. 31 and Feb. 2, Ms. Lanier’s 8th grade Science Classes visited the Brite Center at North Carolina Central University's lab. Students participated in an electromagnetic spectrum & volumetric dilution lab.
Students in Mrs. Lloyd’s 6th grade science class participated in a lab yesterday. Students used the cream of the cookie to demonstrate different moon phases.

2022 HBCU National Football Champions spoke to students about the importance of goal setting and academics.
This school year we added new seating in our cafeteria to offer students a more flexible cafe style seating. Today we added booths to the cafe. Students were excited to see the new addition.

Our chorus and band performed last night during our Fall Concert. Thanks to our chorus teacher, Ms. Ledbetter and our band teacher, Mr. Jones for orchestrating the concert.

Students who participated in the Reflections Art Contest received a pizza party today. Students created original works of art in response to the theme “Show Your Voice”
Students in Ms. Majette’s 6th grade math class applied real world problem solving by using a menu to purchase food items and calculate the sales tax in order to get the total. Students used their money wisely making sure they didn’t go over the allotted amounts.
Thanks to Mrs. Tyler and Weldon Middle School for visiting Shepard today. Their school had an optional teacher workday today and traveled to Shepard for PD today. They were able to visit classrooms and talk to teachers and staff about our success. We are all in this together.
