I couldn’t ask for a better place to spend my days than Johnson Elementary! Teaching these amazing students along side the best administration and Mrs. Alyssa Brown, not pictured, has been an absolute honor.
Congratulations to @FTJohnsonES and 4th grade science teacher Jillian Booth on receiving the prestigious 2023 Excellence in Environmental Education Award.
Recycling in classrooms, hallways and the school cafeteria earned statewide acclaim!

We learned so much for Ms. Katie Paytes about honey bees and beekeeping this morning! Thank you so much Ms. Katie and the Northern Kentucky Bee Keeping Association! 🐝 ❤️
Before we went on Spring Break, our Grant Patrol surprised Jillian Booth and Alyssa Brown, teachers at Johnson Elementary, with a grant for composting materials. Congratulations!

"I think we're making a big difference," Duke said. "One thing I would add is it's actually very easy to do once you have a lot of people that are setting their mind to it."
So proud of our Eco Club!! https://t.co/C2b02f2LgR
Send them to JES and we can recycle them with the Cincinnati recycle and reuse hub. Our collection bin for hard to recycle plastics can be found in our school lobby!
Plastic clamshell containers (like those pictured here) are not accepted in Rumpke's recycling program. Please place them in your waste bin. #KnowYourWaste
For more information on what is and isn't accepted in Rumpke's recycling program, please visit our website.
Our JES 5th graders are truly amazing! They raised over $1,500 to help a community in South Sudan build a well to have better access to clean drinking water. Tonight, there efforts were honored by our FTIS school board. Our future is bright!
The amazing school community @FTJohnsonES has launched a cafeteria recycling program that collects 1,000 gallons of material per week!
It started with two students and an ambitious and attainable vision. It’s a story of remarkable teamwork.

4 weeks of school wide recycling and we saved over 3,000 gallons of recyclables from the landfill! Not everything can be recycled curbside by Rumpke, so we partnered with the Cincinnati Recycle Reuse Hub. Check how much we saved in just 4 weeks!
We did it!! Today, JES officially started our cafeteria recycling program! A special thanks to our friend Hannah from Rumpke and our partnership with the Cincinnati Recycle and Reuse Hub. In just one day, we reduced our solid waste by 151 gallons!
We can do hard things! These scientists have been working diligently to determine independent variable, dependent variables, and designing valid experiments. Also, they’ve made teaching scientific conclusions easy! Claims, Evidence, and Reasoning, oh my!
Building “Waller Coasters” to experiment with potential and kinetic energy is one of my favorite days of the year! We have some innovative students this year! 🎢
So proud of this group! They presented at our board meeting on their mission to become a green school as well as help our school to recycle more. The true definition of student leaders is in this picture! #ecowarriors@JESscience4@FTSchools
