Why did Thailand to speak the falsehood and slander to Cambodia? But never look themselves at the mirror.

Phnom Penh, August 12, 2025: Her Excellency Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, categorically dismisses all baseless allegations made by Thailand against Cambodia relating to the injuries sustained by Thai soldier from mine explosion at Tamone Thom Temple area on August 12, 2025.
The Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia firmly rejects any accusations lacking clear and unfounded evidence from the Thai side related to the injuries of Thai soldier caused by the mine explosion at the Tamone Thom Temple area, Banteay Ampil district, Uddor Meanchey province, Cambodia, on August 12, 2025.
Cambodia maintains its firm stance that Cambodia has absolutely not and will not use or plant any new landmine. Cambodia is a proud state party to the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, which it ratified in 1999, and has been recognized by the international community for its demining efforts at home and abroad. Cambodia notes that up to this point, no official and transparent investigation has been carried out to establish the facts surrounding this incident. Furthermore, Cambodia has reminded Thailand on multiple occasions that these areas still have explosives which are the remnants of war. In this sense, all parties should refrain from making public conclusion before finding out the truth so as to provide justice and to avoid misunderstanding that could escalate tension and confrontation.
Cambodia reiterates its firm, clear-cut and unwavering commitment to respect and strictly implement the Ceasefire agreement achieved on July 28, 2025, and the 13-point Agreed Minutes reached during the extraordinary meeting of Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on August 7, 2025, with observers from Malaysia, the United States of America and the People's Republic of China.
Cambodia calls on Thailand to honor all terms and conditions stipulated in the ceasefire agreement as well as the spirit and agreement during the extraordinary GBC meeting which states that both sides are in agreement to maintain their current troop deployments without further movement as it is at the time the ceasefire reached at 24:00 hours (local time) on 28 July 2025. There shall be no troop movements including patrol towards the other side's position.
Once again, Cambodia launches appeal to Thailand to strictly adhere to the spirit of ceasefire agreement so as to move towards a resolution that both sides had agreed including through the Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting and the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) meeting, to be held in the near future.
The full implementation of the ceasefire agreement by both parties will foster a favorable environment which will bring about peace, stability and normalcy in the relationship between the two countries which are not only the aspirations of both nations but also that of the international community as a whole, as proven by their various messages of congratulations and support for the ceasefire accord and positive outcomes resulting from the extraordinary GBC meeting between Cambodia and Thailand.
Cambodia is firmly determined to work constructively, in good faith, and in close cooperation with Thailand, Malaysia, the United States of America, the People’s Republic of China, other fellow ASEAN member states, and all relevant partners to ensure the ceasefire’s full and effective implementation and resolve all disputes by peaceful means, in accordance with international law, UN Charter and the ASEAN Charter.
We calling out for peace but they didn't want peace at all. Never stopped invading on us yet still blame us when we did nothing.
Implement The Ceasefire Agreement

The Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia would like to inform the general public and the international community that, according to received information at 10:49 a.m. on 3 August 2025, the Thai military, in cooperation with Thai authorities, has instructed its remaining civilians in the border area of Surin Province to evacuate by tonight.
The same sources also confirmed that the Thai military plans to launch attacks along the border starting from the Tamone Thom Temple, Ta Krabey Temple, Preah Vihear Temple, up to the Anseh area. These attacks are expected to commence soon, prior to the scheduled meeting of the Extraordinary Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) on 7 August 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This planned offensive constitutes a violation of the territorial sovereignty of Cambodia before the GBC meeting, and it is a serious breach of the ceasefire agreement mutually agreed upon by both countries on 28 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, with Malaysia, the United States, and China as witnesses.
Cambodia appeals to the international community to help prevent this at all costs and urges the Thai side to immediately stop its planned aggression, if this information is true, and to respect the ceasefire agreement fully for the sake of peace and stability along the border areas of both countries and the entire region.

BBC, as an international news platform, showed unethical journalism by having a Thai reporter cover the border dispute. The report falsely claimed “Cambodia opened fire” without proper fact-checking and failed to present Cambodia’s side.
