Marcos Senesi may have just turned 29, but his wages of 62k a week and Tottenham’s willingness to cough up, suggests he’s an economical deal (Not that we’d know, as no evidence of an approach).

Whilst Shaw, Maguire and Dalot have a combined total of 556 defensive contributions this season, Senesi has made 418 all by himself.

He‘a tall, physical, aggressive and has no significant weaknesses. His aerial ability could be better, but his solid defending and ball playing abilities are stand out.

On the back of a solid season with 5 assists to his name, Senesi ranks in the 99.8th percentile for progressive passes, 97.8th percentile for possession won, 90th percentile for progressive carries, 53rd for defensive duels and 54th for passes completed. Not too shabby for a free transfer!

CB is an area we should be looking to strengthen but may struggle to this Summer. It’s puzzling then that we’d not even explore this opportunity.
