I'm sure it's for the best, but I can't help but chuckle.
When I was at Boise State, BSU's policy for school closures (weather, etc.) was: ????? that sounds like a "you" problem.
@ZackKrebsCS@PeteThamel The consequences for breaking the rules are too low (or non-existent). It is the $10 fine (if you get caught) for breaking the rule that allowed you to make $1,000. Might as well let players start betting on where they are going to sign to play.
Most college football & basketball players are destroying the best asset of college athletics — loyal alumni groups that can help employ you when your athletic career ends — over relatively small amounts of money.
@CoachDaPrato Always classy! Great to see how far you have gone since Montana State. It was always fun to watch you run practice with your players and I appreciate the general banter and conversations we would have over the two years we worked together.
Keep it up!
@FrankLuntz Truth be told, I don’t think we should ever solely rely on the CDC‘s recommendations or any other single agency or group, but rather the recommendations of practicing and research clinicians from various different entities.
@ThankYouTaceGod@ramit I think the point was that you pivoted the argument. I assume your original argument against congestion pricing was not that the government would waste the money. But I don’t know and I own that.
@mybrainissmart The system will implode. Right now it is novel to be able to buy a top performing team, so boosters are into it. The broad stroke funds will diminish when it hits year three or four of needing to donate $1mil for 2-3 players.
Better yet - stop doing pre-season rankings…
But television wouldn’t want that because of viewership.
The alternative is you only get to count a ranked win if that are ranked on that exact ranking…
Finland's underground data centers heat entire city blocks using server waste heat
In Finland, several data-centres now feed their waste heat into municipal district-heating networks instead of simply dumping it into the air. For example, waste heat generated by data-centre cooling is captured and transferred into the district-heating grid, providing carbon-neutral heat to thousands of homes and public buildings. This reuse of thermal energy helps reduce reliance on fossil-fuel heating, cuts emissions, and turns the by-product heat from digital infrastructure into a genuine resource rather than waste.
@mcuban@ScottAdamsSays This is an interesting concept.
I start thinking about what is the highest level that we could apply taxes that simplifies the entire tax system and scales regardless of a tax on people, business, or robot. Even better if they are collected real time.
@HunterWhite_LA The role of a head coach is to oversee all parts of the team. The reasoning given tells me that Sark wants to be an OC but paid like a head coach.
@lobojonz@mid_madness They thought they “fixed” the system with their committee of former P4 coaches and active P4 ADs, yet they create a set of criteria that the G5 finds a way into.
And since the money goes to the conferences, I think people can follow the money as to why Miami got love after a bye
@lobojonz@mid_madness Year 2, they eliminated the autobid for conference champions to save their money and the ACC flops giving away two spots to G5 and $8 mil before any playing happens.
