I suspect the S&P 500 climb is partially explained by smart investors thinking VP Harris will prevail and that our excellent economy will continue to hum along.
Another egregious use of the term, this time from The Athletic: "Men’s superstar Carlos Alcaraz". Arthur Ashe and Billie Jean King maybe, but this gentlemen is unknown outside the tennis fan community.
I retired from IBM in February 2023. Just this month I got a letter from IBM saying they overpaid me $2640.81 and I need to pay it back. It took them about 18 months to figure that out? Don't they use computers any more?
I see IBM's next generation chips will also be made by Samsung. Most companies are going with TSMC (Apple, AMD). Of course there is also Intel, who I hope gets back to a leadership position. https://t.co/fYjJFKvn7W
I know I'm tilting at a windmill here but I froth at the mouth every time I see it. https://t.co/wWXedEmNkx American swimmer Caeleb Dressel is called a "superstar". No no!!! The list of superstars is very short: Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Muhammed Ali, and a very few others.
I just learned that @Hertz has decided to punish me for not using my points right away. They expired after a year so no loyalty from them, and I have to recommend that people use a different rental car company.
Come on U.S. Federal government, time to apply some ant-trust law here. Free the Office suite from Microsoft, require choice in operating systems in PC sales, and push for Linux on desktops/laptops/servers in the Federal space. https://t.co/ACtb6rpKXI
Three changes that would put us on the road to pefection:
1. Eliminate the Electoral College - elect the President by popular vote
2. Change to using the metric system in the USA
3. Use anti-trust laws to pry the Office suite from Microsoft so it will run on Linux
I can't get too excited about this yet (even though I have a fond place in my heart for optical). This is a very long way from commercialization, and as the article points out, tape has a huge lead today. https://t.co/SJr8U44NIF
I see the Boy Scout abuse case is coming to an end. Some wrongs:
(1) It punishes today's scouting movement rather than going after the perpetrators of the abuse.
(2) Scout camps sold off should have been bought up by state and national parks.
As President I'd put a stop to this tomfoolery: I would use the interstate commerce power to prevent any state from enticing sports teams to change locations by using tax breaks or building stadiums etc. https://t.co/bhKWxhEm8z

Sorry, I don't agree with this one. I'm no Trump fan - quite the contrary - but the second impeachment trial concluded that he had not committed treason. I think they got it wrong, but I also believe in no double jeopardy.
