Pat King Freedom Convoy leader found guilty of intimidation. Trudeau also used intimidation by invoking the Emergencies Act to freeze bank accounts & crush the 2022 protests. A double standard where Liberal-backed actions go unpunished while grassroots protesters are prosecuted.
Every Canadian should be able to speak their mind without wondering whether they'll eventually need a lawyer to explain what they meant.
That's why Bill C-9 matters.
Governments rarely take away freedoms all at once. They do it one carefully worded bill at a time, each one sold as "reasonable," "necessary," and "for your own good."
This isn't just about one piece of legislation.
It's about a governing philosophy that seems to believe Ottawa should referee more of what Canadians say, think, and express instead of focusing on the things government was actually hired to fix.
Housing.
Affordability.
Crime.
Productivity.
Those problems didn't disappear. They just became less politically convenient.
A government confident in its record doesn't need to keep expanding the rules around acceptable expression. It earns trust by solving problems.
Bill C-9 isn't the whole story.
It's another chapter in a pattern where government grows, discretion expands, and Canadians are asked to trust that every future government will exercise those new powers wisely.
History suggests that's not a bet free people should ever make.

How did we allow ourselves to become so divided?
It did not happen overnight. It happened because language that should have been rejected became normalized.
Terms like “far-right extremist” and similar political labels are being used to dismiss people rather than engage with their ideas. Too many leaders lack the courage to denounce it. They chose political self-preservation over principle, fearing they would be guilty by association.
But guilt by association has no fixed boundary. Once it becomes an accepted standard, the line keeps moving and eventually everyone finds themselves on the wrong side of it.
That is why principled leadership matters. Leaders should not allow themselves to be defined by labels or the outrage of the day. They should remain steadfast in their values and let their actions, integrity, and decisions speak for themselves.
If we want a healthier democracy, we need leaders who have the courage to reject divisive labels, engage respectfully with differing views, and govern on behalf of everyone they were elected to represent.
CUSMA warning sign for Canada.
According to @globalnews, a third round of detailed 🇲🇽–🇺🇸 negotiations is scheduled for next week, followed by two more meetings in August.
U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra confirmed that none are scheduled with 🇨🇦.
Mexico is at the table. Canada is still waiting for an invitation. That should concern every Canadian.
A touch late now. We’ve had 11 straight deficits with many more to come, the last couple were record setting & more than doubled the national debt without significantly increasing the GDP.
We are at the point of no return, whereby no matter how deep the cuts, how large the surplus or how sustained a period of growth we experience, no CDN gov will be capable of lowering the net debt again.
The experts, the media & a whole lot of voters took a decade off from demanding fiscal responsibility & now it’s just too late!
Never again will we stay silent. Stand 🇨🇦

This is the Carney economy in one picture.
He sold himself as the adult in the room. The banker. The international dealmaker. The man who could handle Trump and restore confidence.
Instead, Canadian manufacturers are preparing their exit.
According to the KPMG survey, 42% of manufacturers have already moved some production to the United States or are considering doing so. Another 36% are cutting investment, 12% have paused spending and 9% have cancelled projects altogether.
Manufacturing jobs are disappearing. Investment is drying up. Factories are moving south.
Businesses respond to incentives, costs and uncertainty. They do not remain in Canada because Mark Carney gives polished speeches about nation-building. They go where taxes, energy prices, regulation, labour costs and access to markets make production worthwhile.
Carney promised competence. What Canadians are getting is stalled trade talks, falling investment, disappearing jobs and another Liberal government that seems incapable of understanding how private-sector wealth is actually created.
A great many Canadians now see Carney as an incompetent ideologue in a good suit, surrounded by the same Liberal machine that helped create this mess.
And what consequences does he face?
Very few.
Carney is rich. His family is secure. His pension, investments and connections are intact. He will never worry about a mortgage payment, a grocery bill, a lost factory job or whether his children can afford a home.
The people who pay for his failures are workers, families, small-business owners and young Canadians whose futures are being shipped across the border.
That is the ugliest part of modern government. The people making the decisions are often insulated from the consequences. They can damage an economy, lose jobs, drive away investment and still retire wealthy, respected and welcomed back into corporate boardrooms.
A résumé is not an economic policy. A banker’s vocabulary cannot hide factories closing and investment leaving.
Canada is not being built. It is being hollowed out, while the people responsible remain comfortable.
When it comes to dealing with Freedom Convoy 2022 protesters the Canadian judicial system is relentless. When it comes to dealing with traitors who "wittingly" support foreign influence in Canadian government operations, not so much? @LichTamara@SCC_eng https://t.co/l1d7Ee329s
This is a Canadian Headline today and it’s not a joke. Globe and Mail is a propaganda machine for Mark Carney. Where are the articles of Carney hiring a Non Speaking French American to be COO of Canada? Where’s the articles of Mark Carney only doing contracts that Brookfield will benefit from? Where are the articles of Money laundering and Bribery in Ukraine where our taxpayer money is?? Conservatives haven’t lost our way but MSM sure did.
