Dynamic pricing goes both ways.
You can get cheaper meals at Chilis on weekdays during lunch than dinner on saturday.
You can buy outdoor patio furniture and grills at discounts during the end of summer.
You can get movie tickets half off on Tuesdays.
Hotels are much cheaper Monday-Thursday than weekends.
Of course none of the discounts from dynamic pricing will be highlighted, because politicians are rarely ever honest and ever provide full context.
Politicians try to fix things that aren't broken. They want systems to be more disfunctional and inefficient. Because the more disfunctional a system is the more need it has for regulatory overseight.
They basically try to grow their job, and their role, at the expense of efficiency and the consumer.
Chipotle has a serious issue with portion size consistency. Sometimes you get a giant burrito, sometimes you get ripped off.
Chipotle's previous CEO said this about the portion sizing: "to get a little extra of toppings like rice or pico de gallo, customers should give a "special look" or a head nod to the employee, which is meant to prompt them to add a little more".
That's a real quote, he actually said that. How about instead of relying on the customer to audit their burrito as it's being made, to ensure they don't get ripped off. You implement strict standards like *weighing* the amount of protein added to the meal. Many restaurants already do this by putting the whole plate on a scale, and weighting before and after adding the protein, to ensure you get the right amount.
This would enforce consistent portions at every restaurant at scale. And the customer wouldn't have to act as an auditor through the assembly line, ensuring that they get the right portions.
@joecarlsonshow Love seeing ASML flat since April while Nvidia, Meta, and others expand AI capex. That divergence just screams opportunity. Every new data center and custom chip order eventually flows back to ASML — the picks and shovels of advanced semis. Let the market sleep on it. Long game.
Amazon has the Nova family of AI models, AWS, and over 1 million physical robots that use different forms of AI.
Stop saying that Tesla is the only one doing Physical AI, it's not true.

Prayers for DeAndre Hopkins man 🙏
Going to from Will Levis to a guy who leads the league in INTs. Poor guy has had to play with so many bad QBs over the course of his career.

#Meteor south of Madison this morning! You might have missed it since #WIwx temperatures were near 10 degrees and wind chills near zero but our south-facing rooftop cameras on the @UWMadison campus captured the fireball falling as the sun was rising.
