Craig Court with a 16-yard field goal to give Waldron a 49-0 lead over Litchfield with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Spartans took the opening possession of the half and burned 10 minutes of clock.
HT: Waldron 46, Litchfield 0. Great blocking by the Spartans and their big backs are dominating. All kinds of yards after contact on Waldron carries. @samfryHDN
Frank Duelo in from 11 yards out for another Waldron rushing TD. Ghent in for the 2-pointer and the Spartans have a 46-0 lead over Litchfield with 55 seconds left in the 1st half.
Jakobe Gonzalez becomes the fourth Spartan to score in the first half on a six-yard TD run. Gannon Willits in for the 2-pt try. 38-0 Waldron over Litchfield with 4:37 remaining in the half.
Waldron's Sam Williams picks off a Litchfield pass and returns it to the Terrier 25. Spartans looking to add to their lead up 30-0 with 6:43 left in the 2nd Quarter.
A miscue on a Litchfield punt attempt gives Waldron great field position and Noah Knepper cashes it in with a 4-yard keeper for the Spartans' third TD of the night. Knepper also runs in the two-pointer to make it 24-0 Waldron with 8:17 left in the 1st half.
Penalties force Waldron into a 2nd and 38 at the Litchfield 40, but Craig Court gets all 40 yards in one go for another Spartan TD. Court runs the 2-point conversion in too. 16-0 Waldron over Litchfield and that play ends the 1st Quarter here.
After both teams trade a couple of punts, Waldron's David Ghent runs in a 44 yard touchdown with 6:33 left in the 1st. Knepper with the 2-pt conversion on the QB keeper. 8-0 Waldron over Litchfield with 6:33 left in the 1st.
Hey! It's been a while, but I'll be helping the Hillsdale Daily News with prep football coverage for the next few weeks, starting with tonight's Hillsdale County 8-man clas between Litchfield and Waldron. Follow along for updates. @samfryHDN
