🇦🇱🇬🇷 Albanian President Bajram Begaj has visited the Cham Victims' Monument in Konispol, southern Albania.

Greece criticized Begaj's visit, calling it a gesture of irredentism.

According to the Cham party PDIU, Begaj is the first president to honor the "2,900 victims of the Greek genocide and ethnic cleansing of Chameria Albanians" in 1944-1945.

I'll never stop being amazed by our stupidity &/or our self-hatred. How on earth can one (especially a former MFA of Kosova (95 % Albanian)) find this kind of writing "an absolutely magnificent dreamlike postcard of Albania"?
The first seriously blood-dripping red flag was a reference to Rebecca West, & when I reached "... the first world war. After the war, an attempt was made to build a national consciousness." I simply stopped reading. I do intend to sleep tonight, & reading the rest would not be helpful, & I've already read quite a few variants of this kind of template writing about Albania.
