Germany just really lacking a 1v1 profile who can pierce & put on the burners.

Throw one of Summerville, Diomande, Doku, Rashford, etc. into this side and they instantly become a proper contending outfit, let alone a Yamal or an Olise

Right now they’re solid, but lacking X factor

Decent shell, pretty good passing connections, some ideas to work crossing positions, I.e. from half spaces, etc. - working with the profiles they have - but they’re not gonna score many goals that aren’t crosses, counter-pressed worked chances or set pieces

Only real width comes from Brown. If he’s not on it, then it’s all on Sané, who simply hasn’t produced at all

Lopetegui was brought in to progress this side tactically so that we could compete near the top more consistently. The opposite has happened.

The team looks less well equipped to deal with opposition threats and is less adaptable to take advantage of weaknesses.
