SF6 has record breaking sales, player retention, peak player counts, tourney entrants, and now “Tifa”. Unless those metrics start declining, there’s nothing to show that anything after year 5 is “wasted time.” Economically, the numbers currently points in the opposite direction.

Fighting games shouldn't go beyond 4 Year DLC Seasons for each game. The 5th year is the buffer period for the next release. Anything beyond that is wasted time.

T7 was lucky it got nine years & the devs knew when to end it. SF6 devs can't read the room.
