🚨Carlo Ancelotti on who is more decisive in big matches between Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé.
🎙️ Reporter: Carlo, you’ve coached both Vinícius Júnior and Kylian Mbappé. If you had to choose the more decisive player in the biggest matches, who would you pick?
🗣️ Carlo Ancelotti: “For me, Vinícius. And I say that with enormous respect for Kylian because Mbappé is one of the best players in the world. But when the match becomes extremely difficult, when everything is at stake, Vinícius has something special.
“I have seen him deliver in Champions League quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. He doesn’t disappear when the pressure becomes bigger. In fact, sometimes the pressure makes him even more determined. He has scored in Champions League finals, created decisive moments and changed matches when Real Madrid needed someone to take responsibility.
“Mbappé can decide a game with his speed, finishing and movement, but Vinícius can completely change the way an opponent defends. You cannot leave him one against one because he will attack you. You cannot give him space because he will run into it. And when Madrid need something, he wants the ball.
“That is what I mean by decisive. It’s not only about goals or assists. It’s about having the personality to demand the ball when your team is under pressure and having the courage to try something that can change the match.
“Vinícius has also developed enormously. When I first worked with him, he was a young player with incredible potential. Now he understands when to attack, when to combine, when to slow the game down and when to take the risk. That maturity has made him even more dangerous.
“If you ask me who I want with the ball when there are ten minutes left in a Champions League final and we need a goal, I would choose Vinícius. He has repeatedly shown that the biggest stages do not frighten him—they bring out his personality.”
Injured himself last night and played until the end to try and help the team.
Not just any injury, an ACL tear.
Come back stronger, warrior. With you forever, Rodrygo. 🤍
