@ClutchFantasy It won’t be that big unless he stays healthy…..if he does it would be worth it you……either you’ve got alternatives or just complaining end of discussion
@ClutchFantasy Do you not think it is? All we know now is that 31 mil of the 110 mil is guaranteed. That leaves 81 mil that could all be roster, gameday and incentive bonuses.
@ClutchFantasy It’s a fair deal based on the nfl market. Gives Watson some money. Gives the Packers an out if it doesn’t workout healthwise. What other scenario would you prefer?
@ClutchFantasy So no alternative….which scenario do you prefer…..rookie WR R1 in 2027 (we know how GB uses Rookies), resign Doubs/trade Watson last year?….let Watson walk and sign/trade for a WR giving up atleast a 1 and a big contract for a WR older than Watson without the POC we have w/Wat
@ClutchFantasy He’s just been healthier than Watson….keep moving the goalpost…. he hasn’t produced more on a per game basis. Again which is why the guarantees are less. Watson will have to stay healthy to see more than 2 years of that deal. Watsons deal is essentially a 2yr/ 50 mil deal.
@ClutchFantasy Alec pierce averaged 2.8 rc/gm and 66 yards recieving in 2025 - 84 million total guarantees and 60 mil fully guaranteed at signing. Signed before Watsons deal. The packers didn’t set the market the Colts and Lions(J-Mo) did.
@ClutchFantasy The market is the market. It’s not set by the packers it’s set by the whole NFL. Watson problem hasn’t been production it’s been health. So the packers tried to mitigate the risk with limited guarantees compared to similar players. Golden, Reed, Sav and Rook in 2027 better?
@ClutchFantasy What’s the alternative? The packers clearly have outs with the lack of guaranteed contracts. Alex pierce got way more guarantees. That’s the potential WR1 market
@wendellfp He get off times are slowing down year by year, and he doesn’t have the power of Reggie or JJ to just rely on that as he slows down. It’s going to be bad contract soon
