This movie's a must watch especially for Filipinos
It made me so nostalgic to times in the Philippines & our mythology

I was floored by #ForgottenIsland. It mixes the style of SpiderVerse with the substance of Ghibli to create this magical adventure about the power of friendship that had me straight up sobbing by the end. I cannot recommend this movie enough. One of my faves of the year.

Just came back from watching #ForgottenIsland!! This won't be detailed, but the amount of laughing and crying I did throughout the movie was insane, lol. Me and my sister came prepared with punas. I DO have a couple of pronunciation nitpicks, but I need Manang's backstory na!

The island is stuffed with folklore, not random cartoon monsters: Manananggal (Lea Salonga) who can split, Tiyanak, Batibat who deals in sleep and memory, Kataw merfolk, a were-aspin. Directors Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado built it as a letter to Filipino stories they grew up on.

When I first watched Forgotten Island, I was so pleased to see in the credits that Skywalker Sound did the sound design for the film. For those who don’t know, they are the same studio which worked on the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings movies. Tapos now, dun pa sa Lucas Museum yung premiere of Forgotten Island. Literally my worlds colliding!

Y’ALL!!! 😭 You NEED to watch #ForgottenIsland at least once!! SERIOUSLY!! I LOVED IT SOOOO MUCH!! I definitely had those couple of moments 😢😢

If you can, PLEASE watch it in theaters because it hits different that way. Not only does it give you a glimpse into Filipino culture, but it really makes you think about what’s actually important in life and the things we sometimes take for granted. 💕
