@BeardedTesla R2 looks great but terrible affordability out of the gate unless you are sitting on all cash buy. Get a Y and never look back. Loving mine :)
@Tesla_Optimus_V@SawyerMerritt@mikepat711@ChuckCook This kind of thing is why I'm leasing my next electric car. My 2023 MY is down to 87% after 41k miles. While metrics say this is normal it just sucks for when its road trip time. There is a long section I can barely make now.
@SawyerMerritt My Hyundai PHEV is what made me realize that EV is the way. I only had about 30miles of battery on that thing but I used it as much as possible. It made me want more so I got a Tesla MY :) Never going back!
@DirtyTesLa I really wanted to also. But they keep doing things like this; short window to decide and now no more 1k refer discount. The world is telling me to wait for the next thing or deal. Bummer :(
@SawyerMerritt I saw a positive spin that this focuses on the "starting at" price which implies a return of the single motor version at an even lower price. It makes sense with the model y having two standard trims.
@doomsday997@RivianTrackr Range varies but even with a modest 2mi/kwh it can only go 184mi. This is the highway scenario and that just isn't enough for something that costs almost 80k
@blktsla Its affordability for sure. The number of families with 1k+ per month for a car payment isn't there to 2x+ the sales even if a refresh were to happen again. No way they would go up to 400+ miles of range and also reduce the prices. Battery prices are keeping overall prices up.
@greggertruck Its all about the battery cost coming down to bring the overall price down. Battery is the highest priced component. If the truck survives Tesla's plans long enough we may one day see prices get closer to these.
