@cowinthevatican@seanmdav Tim Sweeney who started Epic Games in North Carolina has spent a lot of his money on Appalachian conservation. Rob Walton has as well, but he's focused on Africa. But yeah not nearly enough of them are doing it.
@johnddavidson The Internet pre smart-phone was pretty great. It's been a steady slide down since then though. Human minds can't handle having 24/7 instant, anywhere access to everything on the Internet.
@RizomaSchool My wife is a veterinarian that worked at a low cost clinic doing surgeries on pets for people who couldn't otherwise afford it. And even she made the decision to find another home for an unruly dog we had before our first child was born.
@bumbadum14 Since when are data centers industry? Can they supply me the raw goods like steel, minerals, glass, concrete, fertilizers, energy, water, etc. that modern life requires? Oh, it doesn't supply ANY of that? But it's industry though, somehow...
@DavidGiglioCA There is no party that represents Americans anymore. We've been completely sold out and stripped for parts as a country. We need massive changes and we need them now.
@BigBearBummers I would love to own a nice home on the lake, but not as a vacation home. When I buy one I intend to live there full-time. The idea of maintaining multiple homes (that I don't rent out) has very little appeal to me.
@DeTocqueville14 An appliance store owner told me several years ago that Samsung is great as long as no water is involved. So basically stay away from their fridges, washing machines, and dishwashers.
@HistorianUSA1 This was me 15 years ago. I felt like such a failure and hated myself until my grandfather set my down and told me how proud he was of me. For my ambition and trying to make my own way in the world. That none of his other grandkids did that. And that I should be proud of myself.
