It would be nice if the car could have a set number of “skills”. Which spot at home, backed in or forward, which way around a long driveway (both of my TX homes give my car fits), maybe a handful of preferred parking spots at places saved as favorites. Get in right lane when exiting freeway x.y miles before exit. Always follow driver’s turn signal inputs immediately if not dangerous. I have a MYL on order for my wife and I laugh at the stuff she complains about (and takes for-granted since watching my frustration with my $12k purchase of FSD in late 2021…. Car was sold 20 mo old, my current MY is a 2026). Looking forward to the day you’ll let me buy 5 Cybercabs at a time…. I need a retirement side hustle and don’t live too far north of the Houston geofence!
@ReinhartLLC I just rolled into Starbase, TX overnight. These launches are going to be roughly monthly here pretty quick. If you can get to Brownsville, I’ll host you!. Sadly, they are a little tough to time currently, but I go to most of them nowadays….retirement is good!
Never gets old. Have to pick up credentials and sign the releases before the road closure at noon. Taking the long way to Oshkosh …. 400 miles south then 1600 north once this bird flies.
You need to come to South TX and see a Starship launch (and catch)! Or before long FL will be a choice too. In TX they let you get with 3 1/2 miles of the launch (and you can get within 200 yds the morning before). Feels like a 45 second top fuel run. FL I think you are more like 10 mi away. Kallitta is awesome and those jets are impressive!
@RandyWKirk1 The Dad did what he needed to do. Kid’s parents have an obligation to raise them with high morals. Ideally they will help them learn to earn a living too. Beyond that, monetary expectations are ridiculous.
West Texas, and generally the whole Texas oil economy is either feast or famine. When I was a little kid my dad used to tell me he couldn’t afford $0.70/gallon gas but he could buy me all the $4 fuel I could burn. I’ve lived my whole life with a good portion of my income tied to the price of oil. Now retiring from my main job, but still owning an oil tools manufacturing shop, it’s a tough competitive business. Don’t complain about drinks you ordered… be happy that you made the money to afford to pay for them.
Sadly this is India acts on way too many tax issues. They talk a fair deal initially but you can never get a fair deal actually signed. The goalposts move for years with personnel changing and negotiations constantly effectively starting over. The country has so much to work through …. Education via memorization one of the worst!
If you get to where you’ll sell them to fleet operators and let them operate them under the Tesla umbrella, let me know. I’ll buy 5 at a time, and once they are stabilized I’ll buy 5 more. I live just north of Houston and have the room and electricity to keep them clean, maintained, and providing great services to Houston area riders!
@shipwreckedcrew Toby doesn’t understand the foundation of Christianity. Charlie is in heaven, it’s the job of those he left to pick up and move forward. Being depressed and looking back at what you lost is not much of a game plan for moving forward.
@AlBuffalo2nite No need for the oven. Bring meat to room temp before cooking on the grill. Black and blue is not my favorite, I’m for straight up rare. That would be slightly overcooked (and lose the black searing for my steak). That said, I’d eat it for sure.
