It was rather balanced up until about 15 years ago. Still had a leftist bias, but the most popular subs was shitting on SJWs, and other woke garbage before it was labeled woke garbage.

Then there was a shift where the SJWs essentially seized control of popular subs, and then with the emergence of Trump in 15-16, it caused them to lose their collective minds. Anything or anyone even remotely Right of Bernie Sanders was labeled as every kind of -phobe, -ist, Nazi, etc. in the book. Accounts and subreddits were silenced or straight up banned from using the site. Posts that made any reasonable sense were downvoted to irrelevance if not removed by mods.

Admins were no help for the common user because they were of the same ilk as the moderators. It was once considered the anti-Digg, a site that got ruined by leftists rampant censorship and control, and within a few years, literally became the exact same place.
