Reasonable people can disagree on whether to value raw historical dominance or era-adjusted depth. That’s the beauty of baseball.

It changes WAR from "what you produced" to "how deep the talent pool was." The math is rigorous but it punishes legends for things they couldn't control. Ruth is still the GOAT.
