@NewsHour I hope the people doing Trump’s bidding realize he won’t be president forever. At some point, they’ll have to answer for the decisions they’re making today.
@sglockett@nicnicms People who believe the government never does anything correctly are about to get a reality check. We’ve been spoiled by the countless services and systems that work so reliably every day that most people never even think about them.
@sglockett Whoever the next president is, they’re going to have to deal with this mess. A lot of people simply can’t afford a 20%+ cut to their Social Security benefits. Kicking the can down the road isn’t a solution eventually someone is going to have to fix it.

@nicnicms@sglockett Is it a major threat? I don’t think so. Is it something we should be concerned about? Absolutely. Steps are being taken now, but it never should have reached this point in the first place. The Trump administration dropped the ball.
@nicnicms@sglockett Basically, this was something previous administrations had been monitoring. Then funding was cut and now we’re dealing with screwworms again and scrambling to respond. It’s not exactly a surprising outcome considering the incompetency of this administration.
