@dontspreadon@antiquedealz@niyeema38 I understand fine. If Gen Z are aged 14-29 and millennials are 30-45, Gen Z are more likely to be kids of Gen X. The vast majority of Gen Z have Gen X parents.
@dontspreadon@antiquedealz@niyeema38 No they didn’t. Elder millennials on average had their first child at 30. That age rises through time. Ie younger millennials were older. I used your incorrect figure to show how the parents of Gen Z are more likely to be Gen X.
@dontspreadon@antiquedealz@niyeema38 Yes and so millennials are less likely to be their parents if I’m the oldest of that cohort ffs. You know many 45 year olds with a 29 year old child?
@dontspreadon@antiquedealz@niyeema38 What’s your source? I’m using ONS data for elder millennials. Women were c29. Men were c31 so I averaged. Using your number though. I’m on the cusp. If I had my first at 26 they’d be 19.
@_celia_bedelia_ And working on it longer. Flexible working. Work life balance. Inclusion. Mental health discourse. We built on what Gen X started and progressed things loads.
@Chkj67@DixonMiazHertz@EPM106 You are just making stuff up in your head now. I said we can empathise and it’s silly to say we can’t because economic conditions were materially worse. You’re refusing to accept reality because it doesn’t fit your narrative that no one could possibly understand your woes.
@scabbyscribe56 Mate I’m an investment strategist. I’ve 25 years experience. What’s what happens to demand when following a supply side shock of that nature.
@scabbyscribe56 Do you know what a recession is? It’s the opposite of inflation. It’s deflation. Gas prices and cost of living were falling because no one could afford to live because so many people lost their jobs.
@scabbyscribe56 You can ignore facts if you want but that’s up to you. People back then were being laid off in their millions. Multinational businesses were going bust overnight. I promise you that the economic environment now is nowhere near what that was.
@EPM106@_celia_bedelia_ Youth unemployment then 21%. Youth unemployment now 9.3%. Comparing now to then is ludicrous I promise you. You have no idea how catastrophic that recession was.
@Qt55023351@thiscassgirl All jokes aside, please don’t undervalue soft skills. They *are* important. They aren’t some random thing that people have or don’t. You have to develop them and the only real way is practice. It’s horrible at first but it gets easier the more you do stuff like present.
