@respawnedtarga1 Villa have always been against the financial rules. Even as far back as 2013 when they were first introduced they voted against it https://t.co/3kz4FSZuW9
@Alex_Berwick They seem a bit unhinged that we’ve not had to sell like they predicted before June 30th. Even this nonsense about arsenal selling players and growing organically. Arsenal were already well established as the 3rd biggest club in the country when the financial rules came in.
I’m just getting sick of the victim narrative. As an arsenal fan, I saw my club sell its best player every year to stay profitable whilst growing its infra. Growing organically. And no other clubs who don’t want to grow organically are whining that it’s our fault they can’t short cut in a non commercial way. It’s grotesquely annoying.
@AVFCLancelot@villareport Because the majority of those were in Europe or off the bench in the prem.
When starting in the league he only scored or assisted twice, against Newcastle and Bournemouth.
He didn’t get a g/a in 18 of the 20 games he started in the prem.
@Alex_Berwick Don’t think any one of them bettered his peak of 32 goals and assists in 23/24 or his consistency season after season of scoring double digits in the league.
Massively underrated by our fan base, he’ll get his flowers once we struggle to replace him.
@Alex_Berwick Against Forest he won the ball back in our own box, carried it all the way to theirs where Watkins was there to support. Sums up our attack this season and how much he’s carried the load.
@avfc_stef That doesn’t really matter.
You’ve seen both start/subbed on in exactly the same game state against the same opponent.
Tammy was crap both legs, Watkins was great. Watkins will get picked today for that reason
@avfc_stef Different game against exactly the same opponent. Both legs Watkins was much better.
Tammy came into the same game state in the first leg, touched the ball 1 and didn’t even complete a pass.
Tammys performances have been underwhelming so far.
@Alex_Berwick It’s the players behind him.
It’s why when Malen or Tammy have started for us in the league this season neither scored a single goal.
Have you seen buendia take a single person on while on the left and create a good chance for Watkins?
@footballlover63@BJonesFootball It does matter because you’ve compared us to Chelsea who’ve spent £2b in half a decade. One window for Chelsea:
Who do you want to sell to fund the rebuild, I’m sure clubs are lining up to buy Buendia and Bailey for £50m each. Emery has a bet spend of £50m for gods sake.
@footballlover63@BJonesFootball Chelsea can pay top fees for premium young players.
I’m sure Emery would have loved to sign a couple of young £100m midfielders like Caicedo and Enzo but we can’t do that.
