Lurking in Hendon Grove since 1753.
Hardcore Hendonite.
Plagued by pesky planning applications.
Please follow back but not too close. I do bite when irritated.
THE DAY Residents got stuffed AGAIN, this time by the PARTY that "ALWAYS WORKS with LOCAL COMMUNITIES.. on OUR SIDE & HERE to HELP."
Circus ๐ช starts at 00:38 for @BarnetCouncil & @MiddlesexUni's #HendonHub Loving it (not) ๐

Er... The Feb 2024 @BarnetLabour approved plans are uncannily identical to the Jan 2022 approved @BarnetTories plans except for the library! It was claimed to residents that you were a big part of the finance business case strategy of the original plans.
Both @JoshuaAConway and I welcome Barnet Labour's belated recognition that their proposal for the Hendon Hub development (that they gave planning permission to, despite our opposition) does not work and is widely opposed. 1/2
All the ยฃ spent on private consultants despite having council PR/Planning dept, multiple surveys (now outdated/redundant), acquiring local properties which have lain empty - down the drain. Money that could have been used for the library! #wastedresources
Fingers crossed: at last Barnet seems to be rowing back on the awful "Hendon hub" scheme that would have seen massive over-development and the swamping of the iconic library that started the nationwide development of children's services and storytelling

@fabiovollono1@BarnetTories@BarnetLabour I'm a local man and I was referring to local politics. Yes, a few more Caroline Lucases in The Burroughs and Downing Street would be nice.
@BarnetTories Iโm sorry, but if you read the article & I quote โBarnet is the "saddest" north London borough, with the sharpest drop in overall wellbeing between April 2013 and March 2023.โ And do please correct me if Iโm wrong. But during 2013 to 2022 was it not a Conservative run council.
@fabiovollono1@BarnetTories@BarnetLabour I meant it sarcastically of course about their games being amusing. Serious damage has been caused in those Tory years. What is also galling is the hypocrisy of politicians: chopping & changing stances whenever it suits them. Can't trust any party now.
@fabiovollono1@BarnetTories Yes, we had the greatest of fun when under Tory rule & King Capita, the dictator. I'm amused by all the games political parties play. Would be so funny if it wasn't so sad. @BarnetLabour need to up their game though. ๐คฃ
Local anger over the Hendon Hub development was made clear at a committee meeting this week as two new applications on the project site were approved.
The physical scale of the development is overwhelming and the seven-storey structure are out of character for the vicinity
@InsideMillHill@BarnetCouncil & @MiddlesexUni's #HendonHub 3 applications voted through without any changes in the number, size & density of the buildings planned other than returning part of Hendon Library. The Hub has become a popular campaign issue over the last 3 years.
@RupukPatel@yimbychris Scaled down=lower/fewer buildings. Build @MiddlesexUni facilities on their own campus/carpark. Tell me what you specifically know re whole #HendonHub before you comment. No one ever said "No development". @BarnetTories started & @BarnetLabour finished this.
@yimbychris Yesterday's application is student units in a very small residential area of 60 odd homes where there is already a large student hall on another road full of HMOs. Tell me what you really know about #HendonHub prescribed foolishly without a SPD.
@yimbychris Nobody cried. We laughed at how easily people swap stances and how suddenly they see the light when they are in an opposite place to where they were before. You look a little green around the gills. Please go to bed. โค๏ธ
