To the people of J&K who came out to vote across three phases of polling in ninety constituencies, I thank you for making the effort. Baring a few constituencies where turnout was disappointing, the long lines of people waiting to cast their votes was a testament to the power of democracy in a region that has been silenced for almost a decade. My colleagues & I now await the results with a mixture of excitement, hope and a little nervousness. 8th October can’t come soon enough.
