some people have this uncanny ability to make others feel seen/special in a conversation. i've noticed that the thing they have in common is that they mirror without parroting. they absorb signal, parse subtext, and reflect back parts of yourself you hadn’t even articulated yet

I feared marrying wrong more than I ever feared marrying ‘late’. It definitely wasn’t my biggest nightmare, but the weight of choosing the wrong person made patience feel like a very small price to pay!
