Ecuador's President Noboa announced a 60-day state of emergency as violence escalated with prison riots and a wave of attacks by criminal groups across the country.
The chaos began with prison takeovers, hostages, execution of guards, and an escape by notorious gang leader, Jose Adolfo Macias, alias Fito.
