@Jeff_Ermann Jeff, talent alone only goes so far in college football. Coaching really matters. Exhibit A is Indiana.

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@Jeff_Ermann Obviously does not look at character of the individual in the portal or right out of high school while assessing talent. Need solid character and commitment to go along with talent. Not recruiting the right type of winning kids based on his record.

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@pat_pistol_ii @thomasrp93 @ringer You are spot on!! Been saying that for weeks, too!!

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@thomasrp93 @ringer How about throwing 8-10 yard square outs toward the short side? Almost impossible to stop even when telling the DB it is coming. Especially with AJ & Smitty on the receiving end. Then double stack - one runs 8 yard in route the other an 8 yard out. Money.

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@BleedingGreen This team does not play with passion and heart. Enough of looking at the damn tablets on the sideline & the O-line pointing at “who knows who” on defense only to create NO push at all. Get back to playing hungry and like underdogs from the 1st SB win! Wear dog masks again!

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@Terrapins247 Really?? Locks teams, every year he has been at MD, play stupid, undisciplined ball. Down 3 TDs & a DB knocks a ball down & then celebrates. Haven’t had one signature win yet. DMV football way over-rated. Spend $ on MD Hoops instead of MD Football - much better ROI!

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@CoachDMonson Dan - Played golf in a group with your Dad when I was with Midwest Sports Channel (MSC) at the annual Gopher Hoops Golf Event which “Lumpy” ran. Had an absolute blast with your Dad for 4 hours - great old school coach for sure. Best to your family during this tough time. Jon C

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@Terrapins247 @Jeff_Ermann How about playing a game with some discipline for a change?!?! No excuses.Same old, same old with this out of shape HC. Tired of hearing about all the “talent” on his squads. How about actually coaching and holding dumb players accountable for the silly penalties & showboating?!

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@TerpRecruiting Then why does the team under Coach stink for the most part?

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@Jeff_Ermann I was speaking in general - his teams always play tough (ours don't) going back to his teams at Cincy. If you recall, WVU beat the Terps in the Tourney a few years back when Melo got kicked in the head and couldn't finish the game. Need better shooters, too, obviously.

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@testudotimes Non factor, non contributor - clears up a scholarship. Can't shoot, can't guard, can't play at this level.

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@Jeff_Ermann Terps could sure use a guy like that! You're so right about athleticism which is over-rated. So-called less talented teams like Davidson, NW (2x), Wisc even Iowa (who got swept by MD) give MD fits. They know how to play the game and are well-coached. Fundamentals are stressed.

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@1980MiracleTeam Greatest day!! 🇺🇸

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@testudotimes Nobody is talking about the very dumb and untimely T that Willard got at the end of the half. Really hurt. Momentum killer. Also MD is terrible at running plays and scoring after timeouts AND closing out halfs.

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@410sportsreport @skinsfan12234 Worst shooting MD team in 50 years!

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@410sportsreport @skinsfan12234 Can't shoot either.

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@Jeff_Ermann Golf Channel - sorry

[Jon L. Cherney @JLC2424]

@Jeff_Ermann Try Rich Lerner (Gilf Channel anchor & hoops junkie) - he did a Gophers game earlier with Former LaSalle Coach Dr. John Giannini and they were great!
