I had my first book reading at L’Ouverture Books this weekend (12/9) and it was an incredible experience! Darren and his wife Tina were gracious hosts and the Pleasantville community was warm and engaging. Thank you!

@jgmoore Wow! My daughter learned the same things that I learned in the 1980’s about Plymouth Rock and American History. The history of a black community in the town of Plymouth should also be taught in school. Thanks for sharing another ‘I was today year’s old when’ history lesson!
Those with coveted amounts of fortune and fame
Rather enjoyed the fruits of their labor, but then complained
About all of the unwanted attention, responsibility, and role model status
I would give them a tip, but alas the future is cashless.
When the stars fall
From their highest heights
Was their journey and sacrifice worth the price?
When gravity/reality drags them down from orbit
How do they feel, when the paparazzi rushes to report it?

In honor of my grandfather Albert Allen Moore I just donated $25,000 to @flannerhouse to support @flannerfarms and their food justice programs. My grandfather ran their urban farming and food programs in the 1940s, including leading their co-op grocery store.

My brother did this fun medley of music from the year my parents got married, 1971. Their honeymoon was a trip to NYC so that's the background footage!
