@ZambianObserver He is asking a critical question. How much are parents saving now when education is free and when it was not? How much is a uniform, shoes, exercise books, textbooks, pencils, cost of unguided weekly boarding for children who walk to far schools? That is the cost of education.
@SimumbaTrevor Yes, Trevor, we must respect people with principles, even when we do not agree with them. Principled people are better than unprincipled ones.
@pureblase This free education is a good start. But it is still not free enough. Parents still have to buy books, uniforms, shoes, textbooks, unmanaged weekly boarding food for many rural schools.
@SimonChilu21@BuyoyaJonah They are petty??? Over the death and wishes of their breadwinner? I think 'petty' is a strong word for the people who are grieving.
@ZambianObserver This on the Copperbelt has been allowed, but those in Chipata have been denied? Maybe old event? Because today ECZ is seriously stopping anyone from campaigning until they meet on Monday
@bosselvido@BuyoyaJonah Oh, they do more than reading the surface. They have read the message behind the announcement. A good umpire does not stop the game at short notice to re-organise. ECZ is a bad referee
@ZambianObserver It has a high shortage of Wheelchairs too. The past two days we have struggled moving a patient from one clinic to another. Most of the lifts are not working either.
@FMwenge You are right. All it takes is a simple web search for the history of SFP in Zambia. Globally, it has been around for over 100 years. It is a good idea, but more needs to be done. https://t.co/ZbgeiLe8WJ
@diamondtvzambia Some children drop out of school because they have no uniforms, no textbooks, no shoes (we recently bought shoes for a brilliant child who was frequently who stopped school because he had no shoes and books. He was laughed at by friends.
The Free Education Policy is now Law. Free education is a good thing for the country, but how free is free education? Read more - https://t.co/u3VEigWNpm
@ArmstrongKamwi That education is free is a good thing. But we should not be comfortable with the policy and law
Parents do not have to pay for tuition, or any school fund. But they still pay for uniforms, schools, boarding fees, textbooks and exercise books. It is a good start, no doubt
@MisoziWangu@ssishuwa@MunaMudenda And how do these statistics translate into a local, average family economy? How can we convince a poor person in Misisi Compound that things are better now? I mean a non-partisan person who claims that things were better for them under PF (and many think like this)
@MtamiraMumbi What's the issue with ECZ asking parties with double candidates to resolve it themselves and return later? A good referee will show a red card.
